Freya Cruise
~ Ahoy Vikings ~
Your sailing club is sponsoring several fun cruises on Freya in April. This is a great opportunity to meet new/returning club members, get acquainted/reacquainted with Freya our lovely 34 foot sail boat, and in general have a fun time on the water. This is also a perfect way to find out if cruising is really for you before you decide to sign up for the annual May cruise.
Registration is on a first come basis and the price at $20 per person can’t be beat. There will be a maximum of 6 members (not including the Skipper & 2IC.) I urge you to look on the Vikings web page under Cruising & Freya for more details about Freya and cruising on her. You will want to dress appropriately for the weather and bring food for your day sail.
Skippers and 2IC’s – we need your help with the club fun cruises. (Your only costs would be to pay for the propane and diesel.)
Club fun cruise dates for April are:
April 11 – Saturday – day sail (09:00-17:00)
April 12 – Sunday – day sail (09:00-17:00)
April 18 – Saturday – day sail (09:00-17:00)
Please EMAIL me ASAP with the date that you would like to sign up for. The exec will be promoting the fun cruises at the Club Member’s night on April 8th. Bring your $20 to sign up & reserve your spot.

Meet your fellow Vikings, skippers and 2IC’s and lend a hand for Freya’s spring scrub. She is your boat to know and love so come down for some quality time.
The fun starts at 9am on the Saturday morning and will take most of the weekend, daylight hours. Drop in and out as you’re able.
A great opportunity to learn more about Freya and her needs.

Cherry blossoms are flooding Vancouver. Spring is near. It is time to think about sailing again.
That means it is time for our Spring Work Party. On Saturday, April 11 we will ready our Beach Fleet and clubroom for the season.

Ahoy Vikings – Sailing season is now in Full Swing!
Well, for a couple of die-hard members it is. As the rest of us Vikings are starting to get our gear prepped for another season make note – PAY PARKING commences April 1st at Jericho!
Daily Parking Rates are in effect April 1 to September 30
Monday to Sunday & Holidays from 6am – 11pm
Season passes are available for the Jericho Lot (#69) for $83

VSC 2015 New Members Night
Hello Vikings!
The sailing season has begun and it’s time to welcome our new members to our club!
New members night will be on Wednesday 8th April at 7pm.
We will be celebrating the season opening upstairs in Jericho’s Surf and Turf Room.
The event starts at 7pm.
New members – come out and meet the VSC executive, our current members and enjoy a beer
Existing members – come out and meet the new members, our 2015 executive, each other, and enjoy a beer
The upcoming sailing season events are discussed such as our VSC Training Sessions, the 2015 May Cruise and 2015 Freya Fun Cruises. New members are especially encouraged to join in on the cruise events. It’s a great way to get to know your fellow Vikings and gain experience with our keelboat while enjoying our fabulous coastal cruising grounds!
Everyone is welcome to this event, please bring along any colleagues, friends and/or family who are interested in finding out more about the Vikings. Attendance is free, drinks will be available at a small charge.
As always volunteers are required to help make this event a success. Volunteer positions include shopping, set up, clear up, and running the bar – can you help out? Please email our trusted Quartermaster, Louise with any assistance you can provide.
