Folks we are excited to announce that our annual Sailpast event will take place on June 24th at 10 AM this year. It promises to be one of the most enjoyable activities of the year, with plenty of fun to be had by all. We encourage all members to join us for the highlight of the sailing calendar.
We will serve a delicious BBQ salmon and a selection of veggies and corn, with salad and beverages available for purchase. As we come together to celebrate our love of sailing, we will also take a moment to acknowledge our readiness and capability to take to the sea, showing our respect to the Commander-in-Charge.
Before the Sailpast ceremony begins, our fleet will be ready for the sailing season, meeting to salute Tyra with water guns. We hope all our fellow Vikings and friends will join us at Sailpast and enjoy an afternoon of fun and dining together.
Sailpast Itinerary
- 10:00 am: Arrive at the beach and find your crew.
- 11:00 am: Vice-Commodore safety message.
- 11:30 am Set Sail, water cannons at the beach ready.
- 12:10 pm: Sail past Tyra, STARBOARD TACK ONLY, and fire your water pistols, buckets, water pumps, and anything that fires water at the Vikings on the boat (and at any other Vikings in the Sail past fleet)! Also, try to collect more shots of champagne from Tyra at the same time!
- 1:00 pm: Back on shore to put boats away.
- 2:00 pm: Return to the hangar for Lunch/Cocktail hour (Cash bar – please bring cash, coins preferable).
- 5:00 pm: Party on at The Galley
If you wish to join us for lunch on the day, we kindly request prompt registration to secure your seat. Space is limited, so don’t hesitate! Simply update the registration sheet here with your name, the number of people in your group, and your food preference, and indicate if you are available to volunteer.
Kindly RSVP at your earliest convenience, by June 22 to confirm your attendance. The lunch fee is $20 per person, payable in cash on the event day. Additionally, we will have beer and wine available for $5 per can or glass. We have secured the hangar in front of the club room, where a spacious communal table will be set up. Come rain or shine; we will gather there to indulge in our delightful club lunch and relish the company of fellow members.
